I never considered the utility of a cheap coffeemaker before I read this post. This looks like its going to be a fun blog to watch going forward.
They do mention that it is very bland. Here are some things I might do to spice it up:
1. Run the water through the coffeemaker a couple times to make sure it's hot.
2. If possible, make a rub of herbs and spices (garlic salt, pepper, basil, etc) and make sure the chicken tenderloins are COATED thoroughly before they enter the coffeemaker. if you have extra, save it for the couscous.
3. Always add more butter. Always. I'm not going for health conscious here. I'm going for flavor.
All in all, an awesome idea for cooking while on the road... even if you don't have a kitchen. While I wouldn't subject my own coffeemaker to this kind of abuse regularly, it's intriguing enough to try out once at home or on the road.
